Dear Family and Friends,

I am excited to once again participate in FiftyTwo.4 (4 half marathons in 4 weeks!) formerly known as Run4HeavensGate.  FiftyTwo4 is a 501c3 nonprofit and operates solely on volunteers and donations so that 100% of funds from the runners are sent to India.  Over the past 10 years the groups has raised over $840,000 for children suffering from HIV?AIDS.

 

The plan this year is to have the funds directed towards building a new orphanage for girls in Varanasi.  The board still needs to have an official vote in November.  Estimated cost is $100,000 usd.  The new home will be for girls with HIV/AIDS.  At present they are running into renting issues because places are not willing to rent to children with HIV.  Eighteen children have been vacated to a place with 4 rooms (each 150 sq feet), 2 toilets and 1 bathroom.  In addition the asbestos roof leaks.  The new building would also be used to lodge women who come for fasting prayer meetings and other conferences.  A compound wall is necessary in the safety of the girls
